Our Story

Day Road Animal Hospital has been a steadfast presence in the Bainbridge Island community since 1981, providing personalized, compassionate, and high-quality veterinary care to our cherished furry companions. Founded by Dr. Richard Badger, the hospital initially served as a single-doctor practice, quietly tending to the needs of local pets. As the practice flourished, Dr. Badger's vision and dedication sparked a dedication to growth and expansion, leading to a remodel in 1987 to accommodate the increasing demand for quality veterinary care.

Dr. Mark Swaney, who began as relief work at the clinic in 1996, took the helm in 1999, ushering in a new chapter for Day Road Animal Hospital. Dr. Swaney, along with Dr. Lianne Tabata, both graduates of The Ohio State University, have passionately continued Dr. Badger's legacy, upholding the core values of exceptional medical and surgical options, unwavering client advocacy, and ongoing education.

Today, our team of dedicated veterinarians, Dr. Swaney, Dr. Tabata, and Dr. Marie Quicksall, are committed to remaining at the forefront of veterinary medicine, ensuring our patients receive the most advanced and effective treatments available.
