Animal Emergency & Specialty Center (AESC) has been providing trusted pet emergency veterinary care to the residents of Kitsap County and the surrounding areas since 1993. As a dedicated team of professionals, we understand the fear and uncertainty that pet owners experience when an emergency arises outside of their family veterinarian's office hours. Our commitment is to provide compassionate, state-of-the-art medical care to pets during their unexpected and difficult times.

Our story began in 1993 when Drs. Burgess and Zimmers came together to establish the first after-hours emergency animal hospital in the region. Over the years, our hospital has grown, with more and more local veterinary practices recognizing the value of our services. In 2013, Dr. Zimmers retired, and Dr. Burgess took over as the sole owner of the practice. Three years later, in 2017, Dr. Burgess sold 70% of the practice to National Veterinary Association (NVA). For the next three years, he remained part of the team, continuing to serve the community with his expertise and dedication.

In 2022, we took a significant step forward by moving to a larger, state-of-the-art facility and expanding our offerings to include specialty services. This move enabled us to better meet the needs of our community and continue our mission of providing quality, compassionate care to pets and their families.
