Your Pet's Health is Our Top Priority

Coast Veterinary Clinic has been providing top-notch care for the dogs and cats of the Central Coast since the early 1950s. From our humble beginnings with founder Dr. Dave Wixom, to Dr. John Truax and Dr. Duane Stephens, and now under the current ownership of Dr. Elias Stack-Aguirre and Dr. April Bessett, our commitment to providing high-quality veterinary care for your beloved pets has remained unwavering.

Our clinic is a full-service animal hospital offering a wide range of pet care services. These include dental prophylaxis, pet wellness and care, preventive health management, diagnostic services (digital radiography, ultrasound, in clinic and reference lab work), soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, home visits for patient end of life care, and more. We take pride in our dedicated team of professionals who are always ready to assist you and your pet in any way possible.

Our clinic is dedicated to ensuring that your pets receive the best possible care. We believe in the importance of preventive care, which is why we offer a variety of services designed to keep your pets healthy and happy. Our team is always ready to provide you with expert advice on how to keep your pets in optimal health.

Meet the Vets

Our team of dedicated veterinarians is comprised of Dr. Elias P. Stack-Aguirre and Dr. April M. Bessett. Both Dr. Stack-Aguirre and Dr. Bessett are 2008 graduates of St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine, Grenada, West Indies. Dr. Stack-Aguirre has a special interest in canine and feline dentistry, anesthesia, and soft tissue surgery, while Dr. Bessett focuses on dermatology, internal medicine, and clinical pathology. Both are dedicated to providing compassionate and high-quality care for your pets.

Dr. Stack-Aguirre has been with Coast Veterinary Clinic since his graduation from veterinary school. He worked as an associate veterinarian for 12 years before he and his wife, Dr. Bessett, purchased the clinic in June 2020. Dr. Bessett, on the other hand, worked as an associate veterinarian at a local 24-hour veterinary care hospital for 12 years before joining Coast Veterinary Clinic.
