Our journey began with Dr. Jose Pepen, a veterinarian with a passion for animals and a heart filled with the Aloha spirit. Dr. Pepen, originally from the Dominican Republic, had a long-standing love for veterinary medicine, tending to animals both in his native country and in New England. His desire for a warmer climate led him to Hawaii, where the spirit of Aloha truly captured his heart. When he eventually moved to Florida, establishing Aloha Pet & Bird Hospital in 1988, he brought this infectious warmth and dedication to his practice.
