Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Kim Sears, Owner

Dr. Kim Sears, a central Kentucky native, has been dedicated to animal care since a young age. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine after graduating from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. In 1998, Dr. Sears purchased Village Animal Hospital, where she has enjoyed implementing her high standards of veterinary care and service ever since. She shares her home with her son, Andrew, her dog Herbie, and her bird Alvin.

Dr. Heather Darnall, Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Heather Darnall, a Kentucky native from Brandenburg, KY, completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky, earning a Bachelor's of Science degree in Animal Sciences. She went on to attend veterinary school at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing veterinary medicine since June 2018. Throughout her career, Dr. Darnall has developed interests in shelter medicine, dermatology, and preventative medicine, always valuing the human-animal bond and the critical role she plays in it. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with friends and family, and enjoying the outdoors. Dr. Darnall shares her home with her cat, Gilbert, and her dog, Lucy.
