At Porters Neck Veterinary Hospital, we are dedicated to providing excellent care to your pets. Our mission is to incorporate our clients and patients into our hospital family, treating them with compassion, respect, education, and quality care. We strive to be more than just a vet clinic; we aim to be a trusted friend, a partner in your pet's health and well-being.
Our History
Our journey began in 1999 when Drs. Ron and Sharon Harris opened the doors of Porters Neck Veterinary Hospital. After years of working together in Goldsboro, NC, they moved to Wilmington and worked at the Wilmington Animal Emergency Clinic before opening their own practice in the Porters Neck Shopping Center. Five years later, the hospital was relocated to its current facility.
Meet Our Veterinarians
In 2014, Drs. Rebecca and Matt Resnick took over the practice from Drs. Ron and Sharon Harris. Rebecca earned her doctorate in veterinary medicine from North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine, while Matthew graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts. After completing his studies, Matthew spent a year practicing as a veterinary associate in Port Jervis, New York before returning to North Carolina. He joined the team at Porters Neck Veterinary Hospital in September 2014.
