Caring for Your Pet, Caring for You

Our Story

At Sandhills Veterinary Hospital, we understand that your pet is a beloved member of your family. That's why we've designed our clinic and services with your pet's comfort and care in mind. Our experienced team of veterinarians and staff are dedicated to providing quality, compassionate care to your furry friend. We're proud to be a family-owned and operated business, and we're committed to building strong relationships with our clients and their pets.

Our Services

We offer a wide range of services to keep your pet happy and healthy. From routine wellness exams to surgical procedures, we're equipped to handle a variety of needs. Whether your pet needs vaccinations, dental care, or medical treatment for an illness or injury, we're here to help.

Wellness Exams

We believe that preventing problems is always better than treating them. That's why regular routine physical exams are an important step in keeping your pet healthy. During a wellness exam, our doctors will check your pet's weight, listen to their heart and lungs, examine their eyes, teeth, and gums, and check their abdomen and limbs for any signs of discomfort or pain. We'll also discuss vaccine and preventive medication needs, and may recommend medications or dietary and lifestyle changes to help keep your pet healthy.

Meet Our Team

Our team of veterinarians and staff are dedicated to providing the best possible care for your pet. Dr. John Thomas, our founder and medical director, graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine and has a passion for providing quality care to pets. Dr. Kari Rosmer, who joined our team in 2017, believes in the importance of educating clients on the benefits of preventative care. Dr. Gavin Beard, our newest addition, was born and raised in Columbia and has a passion for providing compassionate care to pets.

Community Involvement

We're committed to giving back to our community by supporting local organizations and charities. We're proud to support groups such as SQ Rescue, Guardians of the Night, Harvest Hope food bank, and various local schools' sports and fundraising events. We also sponsor two dogs for Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services (PAALS), providing all of their medical care at no cost.
