Our Story

At Keota Veterinary Clinic, we take pride in being a small-town clinic that offers the advantages of modern veterinary technology. With over a century of combined experience, our dedicated team of three doctors and staff of nearly 50 are committed to providing the best veterinary care to animals in Keokuk and Washington counties, and beyond. We understand the importance of personalized, compassionate care for each and every animal that comes through our doors, and we're dedicated to making sure that every animal receives the highest quality of care possible.

Our clinic has a rich history, with a legacy of veterinary care dating back to the early 1900s. We've been fortunate to have had the service of several fine doctors throughout the years, including Dr. L.B. Ash, Dr. L.W. Fitzgerald, Dr. J.H. Weibel, Dr. H.B. Morris, Dr. Speaker, Dr. Richard Carmichael, and Dr. Rex Greiner. Dr. Richard Carmichael is particularly notable for establishing the first embryo transfer facility in the United States, an industry that has now grown into a multi-million-dollar market.
