A Legacy of Care

Established in 1983, Lakeside Animal Hospital has been a trusted partner to pet owners in the Oshkosh area for over four decades. Our roots run deep in the community, tracing back to the Elbing Animal Hospital, which Dr. Herman Schatz acquired in 1978. Originally located on Jackson Street, the practice became Lakeside Animal Hospital in its current location, built in 1983 and expanded in 2000 to better serve our growing clientele. Dr. Herman Schatz dedicated his career to veterinary medicine, retiring in 2006 after a lifetime of compassionate care. He continued to volunteer his time at the local humane society, performing spaying and neutering procedures, until his license in veterinary medicine expired in 2011.

A Team Committed to Excellence

Dr. Todd Schatz, son of Dr. Herman Schatz, took ownership of Lakeside Animal Hospital in 1999 and has since grown the practice to include three associate veterinarians. Together, we provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental services for a variety of species, including dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, and small mammals. Our dedication to continuing education ensures that we stay at the forefront of veterinary medicine, constantly seeking new and improved ways to care for your beloved companions.
