Lone Tree Animal Care Center is a premier full-service veterinary clinic serving pets and their families in Omaha, Nebraska, with pride. Our clinic was founded in February 2020 by individuals who relocated from Iowa, making it a labor of love. The name Lone Tree was chosen to pay tribute to the historic Lone Tree Ferry, established in 1850, which represented connection and care, a mission we aim to replicate daily.

Our clinic provides a broad range of services, including routine medical care, surgeries, and comprehensive dental treatments. Dr. Emily Whitehouse leads our team, bringing over fifteen years of experience in treating routine and complex cases. Dr. Whitehouse specializes in fear-free practices to ensure every pet feels safe and comfortable during visits.

Our clinic's design prioritizes pet well-being, featuring a calm waiting area suitable for children and thoughtful elements to reduce stress for pets. Dr. Emily Whitehouse

Owner and Medical Director

Dr. Emily has wanted to be a veterinarian since the third grade, after her dad mentioned that she was pretty good with the family pets. She worked at veterinary clinics throughout her high school weekends in Ohio, before attending The Ohio State University for her undergraduate and veterinary school degrees. She moved to Southwestern Iowa in 2008 with her now-husband to practice mixed animal medicine. After four years, she headed into town to a predominately small animal clinic. She’s decided to start her own practice in Omaha after seven years, and she is SO excited to care for you and your pets! Dr. Emily and her husband have two dogs, three indoor cats, a bunch of barn cats (more show up every day, right?), and some chickens on their acreage. In her free time (ha!), she loves to garden/landscape (native plants only, please), read voraciously, prep for the apocalypse, and build furniture as a novice.

This vet is amazing! Our dog absolutely hates the vet. She gets very stressed, reactive, and aggressive when shes in a new setting with new people, but everyone here was so understanding and helpful. They gave us several accommodations to make the visit as comfortable as possible including letting us wait outside until the doctor was ready to see us. Cant say enough good things about Lone Tree! Were incredibly grateful for their patience and understanding with our stressed doggo.

I love that Lone Tree has separate entrances for cats and dogs, it makes for a much less stressful experience for kitties. I also love all the work they do for TNR and the feral cats in our area, and they have the nicest digs for cats in their exam room! Steve is a big fan, as a failed feral cat turned healthy housecat.

Awesome staff, all around, got my baby in right away. But the prices were too hefty for me, which seems to be a common theme at all vets right now. My baby didn't make it, it broke my heart. I still think this place was awesome.

I have a very fear reactive/aggressive dog especially when it comes to the vet. When I got there they allowed me to stay in my car and texted me when I could come in. Everyone gave my dog her space to get into our room. My experience at the vet is never very comfortable but they make me feel as comfortable as possible and are very accommodating and patient.

Great communication, excellent service. Can't put into words how awesome Dr. Emily and the staff are! My dog can be how to put it. a pain sometimes when around other animals, the staff is very accommodating for this and works with me on it. Staff also explains everything to me so that I clearly understand what is going on every step of the way, also very affordable!

Our cats and dogs have been with Dr. Emily for over a decade and we wouldn't want to receive care from anyone else - her passion for being a veterinarian shines through by the gentleness and high quality care that she provides. Our elder dog has a highly complex medical issue and Dr. Emily is always brainstorming and provides us with multiple options and/or solutions - all of this at very reasonable cost. Dr. Emily stays up-to-date on the most current evidence based practices, her clinic provides fear-free services and her online pharmacy is an added bonus for us as we live a distance away. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Emily and Lone Tree - give them a chance and this will be your place for life.
