At The Shot Spot, our mission is to provide top-notch veterinary care to the community, and we're committed to doing so for many years to come. We're a full-service veterinary hospital and fleet of mobile wellness trucks located in McKinney, Texas. Our team of expert veterinarians and staff are dedicated to delivering exceptional care to your furry friends, and we're passionate about breaking down the barriers to care that many pet parents face.

Our History

The Shot Spot was founded in 2014 by Dr. Danny R. Cox and his wife Amy, a well-known animal advocate. Dr. Cox is a 1982 graduate of the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine, with over 37 years of experience in the field. Throughout his career, he has managed more than 30 veterinary hospitals and trained hundreds of licensed veterinarians in the fields of veterinary surgery, anesthesia, and clinical medicine. Amy Cox is deeply involved in the animal rescue community in the DFW area and has provided first responder services for the animals during natural disasters.

At The Shot Spot, we offer a comprehensive range of services to ensure your pet receives the best possible care. Our services include:

  • Healthy Pet Advantage Plan: A membership program designed to provide you and your pet with a safety net against unexpected veterinary bills.
  • Heartworm & Flea/Tick Preventative: We offer a range of preventative measures to protect your pet from heartworms, fleas, and ticks.
  • Canine Services: We offer a variety of services tailored to our canine friends, including vaccinations, dental care, and more.
  • Feline Services: Our feline services include vaccinations, nail trimming, and other essential care for your feline companion.
  • Mobile Truck Services: Our fleet of mobile wellness trucks bring affordable wellness care to many communities every Saturday and Sunday.

Community Partners

At The Shot Spot, we're committed to giving back to our community. We've partnered with local groups and participated in events in McKinney and surrounding areas, including the Samaritan Inn, Glen Oaks Elementary PTA, McKinney Boyd Bailadoras, Krewe of Barkus, Red, White, and BOOM 4th of July Parade, and the Allen Americans Pucks N Paws Night.
