Meet Our Veterinarian: Dr. Amanda Burris

Dr. Amanda Burris is the founder and owner of Town & Country Animal Hospital. Her lifelong passion for animals has driven her to dedicate her career to their well-being.

After growing up helping out at her aunt's world-class horse training facility in Kentucky, Dr. Burris pursued her dream of becoming a veterinarian, earning her doctorate from Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island. During her training, she gained valuable experience at the island's only shelter, working as a behaviorist, trainer, and adoption counselor. While she was encouraged by professors to pursue specialized residencies, Dr. Burris chose to practice general medicine, relishing the opportunity to build strong bonds with both pets and their owners.

Dr. Burris's approach to veterinary care emphasizes preventative medicine, promoting long-term health and well-being through routine examinations, customized vaccination protocols, proper nutrition, parasite prevention, and dental care.

Alongside her veterinary expertise, Dr. Burris actively promotes animal welfare through her involvement with local shelters and rescue organizations.

Dr. Burris shares her home and heart with a diverse menagerie of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, leopard geckos, horses, and freshwater fish. Her two beloved Chihuahuas, Oliva and Freyja, serve as clinic mascots and often steal the show on our Facebook page.

At Town & Country, our team is not just a collection of individuals - it's a family of passionate animal care professionals committed to providing exceptional care to each and every patient.

• Brandon Burris, Practice Manager / IT / Lawn Care (Time Permitting) / Whatever Else It Takes: Brandon, Dr. Burris's husband, is an integral part of the Town & Country team, handling practice management, IT, and anything else that needs attention. His extensive experience in animal care, which began with the Concord SPCA, has equipped him with a deep understanding of the needs of both animals and their owners. In his free time, Brandon enjoys reading, video games, board games, and anything fantasy-related.

• Tristina Buckley, Veterinary Staff:

Tristina has been a valuable addition to our team since joining us in January 2021. She moved to New Boston from Massachusetts, bringing with her a wealth of experience in animal care and two Great Danes, a Dalmatian, and a Beagle to share her new home.
