What is a Board Certified Veterinary Dermatologist?

A board certified veterinary dermatologist is a veterinarian who has completed extensive study and specialized training in the diagnosis and management of allergy and many other forms of skin and ear disease. To become a board certified veterinarian dermatologist, one must complete an internship and then a 3-year residency in dermatology to become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD).
