Our Mission

Our doctors and staff are dedicated to providing individualized attention to ensure pets' comfort and provide competent and compassionate care for your pet. We use state-of-the-art techniques and equipment to obtain the goals listed above, as well as regularly attend cutting-edge continuing education classes. Each of our staff members has a variety of domestic and exotic pets of their own at home, giving them personal experience in the care, needs, and handling of your special friend and family member.

Our Team

At Castro Valley Companion Animal Hospital, we have a remarkable team of veterinarians who are dedicated to providing top-notch care for your pet. We are proud to introduce Dr. Kim Bercovitz, our Practice Owner since January 2018. Dr. Bercovitz is an East Bay native who grew up in Hayward, California, and attended Moreau Catholic High School. She then attended the University of California at Davis where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Bercovitz is also a highly-regarded veterinarian who is known for her incredible bedside manner and truly cares about both her patient's and client's well-being.

We are also honored to have Dr. Rene' Gandolfi, D.V.M., one of our esteemed veterinarians, who brings extraordinary experience and resources to our hospital. Dr. Gandolfi is a board-certified specialist in Canine and Feline Animal Care, recognized by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, and is a recognized expert in animal care.
