Advancing Animal Health and Well-being in Bexar County
The Veterinary Medical Association of Bexar County (VMABC) is a professional organization that has been serving the veterinary community in Bexar County and South Texas since 1939. With over 300 members, our organization is comprised of veterinarians involved in private practice, research, military, and teaching positions. Our mission is to advance the art and science of veterinary medicine, promote public health, and educate the public about animal health and its relationship to human health.
History
VMABC was established in 1939 as a means of sharing information and acting on policy matters, public relations activities, and presenting educational presentations on developments in the medical field. From an original membership of 12 people, VMABC has grown to become a prominent organization in the veterinary community. We work closely with various animal-related groups and organizations, including the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District, City of San Antonio Animal Care Services, and other animal welfare organizations to address local animal issues.
Purpose and Objectives
The purpose and objectives of VMABC are to:
