Our mission is to promote and maintain the health of pets through education and understanding of the foundations of health. Unlike many animal hospitals today, our practice style is not driven by drug company promotions, vaccinations, and the marketing schemes of corporate interests. Instead, we take the time to sit down with you, get to know you and your pets, address all health issues, and formulate a plan to improve health and well-being.

In addition, we provide alternative treatment options such as acupuncture, animal chiropractic, herbal medicine, homeopathy, and nutritional consultations. Each case is individually evaluated, and the treatment choice is made according to the preference of the client and the needs of the patient.

Our Team

Dr. Elizabeth Hassinger, the owner and founder of WRAHC, is a 1989 graduate of Tuft's Veterinary School and has completed post-graduate study in small animal medicine and surgery. She has practiced in Southern Rhode Island since 1991. Dr. Hassinger has completed the training and requirements for certification in Veterinary Acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. She studied animal chiropractic at the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association and has also trained in veterinary homeopathy and herbal medicine.
